LIFE'S BETTER WITH BURRITOS
We grew up eating tacos and burritos in San Francisco, the self-proclaimed burrito capital of the world. We were regulars at at all the great taquerias in the Mission District - Taqueria Cancun, El Farolito and La Taqueria, to name a few. These joints were for dinners out with our buddies Mike, Corey, Geoff and Dennis; grab-and-go lunches with colleagues, and 2am'ers with a corona (or 5).
Nothing could beat the tomato cracked rice, avocado-leaf infused pinto beans, cleaver chopped meats, fresh guacamole, and the endless table of salsas. All in burritos the size of your head. It was heaven.
When we moved to London, we searched for the same taquerias but couldn’t find any. We loved this place but there were two things missing: Californian sunshine and Mexican food. So, we decided to do what we could about one of them!
We named it Tortilla; inspired by the fragrant corn & flour tortillas we used to buy from our local Mexicatessan, which were so different from the bready sandwiches here in the UK.
We wanted to break the rules of your typical takeaway with food that was fast, filling, fresh and didn't cost a bomb. To this day we make everyy meal from scratch to your tastes - there are literally thousands of flavour combinations to try!
